Event Details

Power Networking (optional 5:45-6:15pm)
By popular request! Every month, we include a period of time for you to meet a number of other like-minded people in a structured, fast-paced format. Bring your elevator speech and business cards! Not in the mood? Spectators welcome as well.

The Debate (6:45-7:45pm)
As gas prices indicate, our energy prices are poised to head in one direction: up. The debate over what type of energy generation our dollars will be supporting has never been hotter. Think we can ignore coal, eschew nuclear, and install solar panels on every roof? Green Drinks delves into the fray with an engaging roster of panelists representing three perspectives: clean coal, renewables and energy efficiency. Learn from the experts about the interests competing to determine our energy future, and why today's decisions are critical to tomorrow's economy and environmental well being.

Hoyt Hudson, President
Mainstay Energy
Mainstay has been involved in the development of clean energy projects for ten years, and since 2005 has worked to advance the Chicago Clean Energy gasification project on the southeast side of Chicago.  Hoyt's innovative approach to project development involves the disciplines of finance, regulatory, permitting, site selection, community relations, technology selection, and policy advancement.

Brandon Levitt, President
Solar Service
Brandon installed Illinois’ first solar water heater in Lincolnwood in 1977. Today, his Niles based company, Solar Service, is one of the largest providers of residential and commercial solar electric, heating  and hot water systems in the United States.  Solar Service also specializes in designing and installing solar systems for schools, municipalities, multi-family buildings, and not-for profit organizations.
